First and foremost - Computers CANNOT THINK, one reason why it's helpful for folks who use them to do so.  The simple fact of the matter is any decision made, word typed, picture viewed or action taken is the result of simple math. It's all really just "1"s and "0"s, plus or minus, yes or no's. 

Second, LEARN THE BASICS.  Yes, it's a whole new language.  Yes, they're complicated machines.  And, yes there is a lot to remember.  Now, as long as you start your education process with all those things in mind - you'll do fine.  Unlike us, Computers are not sympathetic and won't care that you don't know what you're doing or don't remember what you've done.  It won't get frustrated when you can't find something.  They're not emotional, so you're not going to hurt it's feelings when you yell and call it names!
